New York home

A bespoke hand-embroidered artwork created to celebrate a friend’s first New York apartment. The piece captures the character of the building’s façade while preserving the significance of a meaningful life milestone.

I worked from the client’s original photo to reinterpret the architecture, pulling out the strongest shapes and textures to create a design that feels both minimal and personal.

Understanding the Space

I approached this commission with an illustrative style to avoid the overly technical feel of traditional architectural drawing. Inspired by James Gulliver Hancock’s work, I focused on distilling the building into clean, essential forms that preserved its character without excess detail.

"Meghan’s architectural embroidery immediately stood out for its rarity and craftsmanship. I commissioned a piece knowing it would become a beautiful, sentimental addition to my home."
